My Story
I practiced as a clinical pharmacist with a PhD for decades before starting medical school and becoming a patient advocate. My perspective on the healthcare system changed when my sister was diagnosed with cancer. By her side through her care, I was able to prevent medication errors, find alternative treatments which fit my sister's specific goals and navigate through the complex system. Then I suffered my own medical crisis when I was diagnosed with a spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury. This time I experienced the healthcare system firsthand as a patient. With my education in neurology, I was able to develop my own unconventional treatment plan and made a full recovery. I feel a compelling need to do for others what I did for my sister and myself. I put together a team of healthcare professionals and patients who can help empower you to make informed decisions that best align with your goals.
